Elena 2 years

Elena is almost 2 years (her B-day is Feb 22).  She is the funniest, silliest baby yet.  She does this thing where she looks at you very seriously, almost angrily, then smiles, then serious again and so on.  I try to follow her sometimes but she always wins because I crack up every time.  Like, Dina, she has inherited my luscious locks and the three of us look like a pride of lions in the morning.
relatively calm morning hair today

When I started these intros I thought they would be just that, introductions, but as it turns out, I am a terrible writer and I refuse to do the whole writing process for my posts.  So, these "intros" have become nothing more than a little biographic information along with a bunch of little anecdotes, which is why I started this blog in the first place, so there, I win.

Anyway, Elena is still in diapers and I have not figured out the whole potty training thing.  She doesn't really understand what is going on in her lower half yet, so I like to think she's not quite ready for potty training.  Maybe next month.

Elena is a curious little (really little, she's like in the 10th percentile for her height) tot and immediately runs away from me when she has been caught doing something she is not supposed to do.  Unlike, Abel and Dina, Elena's toddlerhood is not including amazing hands-on activities at UCLA daycare.  So she takes it out on me, on my sofas, on my walls, and on my sister's walls.  A few weeks ago I bought some shaving cream at a dollar store and tried this:

I did it outside because, obviously, I don't want this stuff on my walls.  But then it mixed with dirt.... So yeah, haven't done this again.  A couple weeks ago I bought her some finger paint; I'm currently working on building up the patience to let her actually use it.  Anyway, more pics:

Right before going to church; Elena is wearing an expensive (for us) Old Navy
pea coat that we bought two years ago for Dina; the perks of having two
daughters that are close in age ;-)

Different Sunday, same time

This was the first time Elena gave beans a chance.  She has never wanted to eat them!
She first tried them when she was 7 months and decided that she didn't like them
black or pinto, whole or pureed.  How dare she?

Chuck E. Cheese fun

She loves our little carpet patch in this carpet-less house

She loves her stroller, unless it is used to tie her down during church;
then she hates it

Mommy and me selfie.  Gotta take advantage of these
before she decides I'm too old to take selfies

We have goats!!! (more on this later) Elena's is the
non-dwarf brown and white Nubian

Super-ready for the winter that we had to drive 30 min to

Elena enjoys wearing hats and hair stuff as long as there is praise with it;
once the praise stops, the hat comes off.
